Artist Statement

My sculptures emerge in a realm that spans two dimensions to three. From materials which are not inherently dimensional I create volume and impressions of mass by embracing space. Conversations improvised between color and form and inherent quirks of materials evoke energy and movement. Along the way the work inevitably broaches that edge that flirts with tension between balance/imbalance, much the way a jazz riff can draw upon a simple idea to explore evolving possibilities.
